Cross Country Regionals were held in Cooperstown this past weekend. Congratulations to TGU Granville runners, Ethan Sveet (10th grade) and Kale Deatherage (9th grade)! They helped the Surrey-TGU Granville-Nedrose Mustangs score 5th as a team out of 29 teams. Last year, they placed 10th. Great accomplishment! Ethan was the 5th finishing runner for the team with a time of 20:02 for the 5K (6:37/mile for 3.1miles) and Kale was the 9th team finisher with a time of 22:57 (7:23/mile). There were 232 young men and 187 young women competing. 7-12 students: Please consider joining Cross Country next year! They need more female runners. Coach Gary Walhaug at Surrey does an excellent job with these student runners!

The Towner Community Club knows that Halloween night can be busy for families, so they’ve partnered with Duane Drader to serve a kid-friendly meal during Trunk or Treat event. This will give families the option to buy supper while at the event.
If you’re interested in participating in this event, email the Towner Community Club at townercommunity@gmail.com or message their Facebook Page. Those interested in participating should be set up by 3:45 the day of the event and line up with their tailgates or trunks facing the street.
