ANNUAL HEARING SCREENINGS Speech and Hearing is an important part of your child's ability to learn and progress at school. An annual speech and hearing screening is conducted at TGU schools to help identify hearing concerns. The hearing screening is a very simple procedure where your child will wear headphones and raise their hand in response to sounds heard. It will take only a few minutes. All students in kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th grade, as well as students currently in special education and/or on 504 plans will have their hearing screened by the school’s Speech-Language Pathologist. Speech (i.e., articulation) screenings will be completed for students in grades K-1 only. Make-ups will be completed if your child is absent on one of the scheduled days. TGU Towner Elementary April 7 TGU Towner High School April 8 TGU Granville April 11 If you DO NOT want your child’s speech and/or hearing screened, please notify the school. If you have any concerns, please call us. You will only receive notification if your child does not pass hearing screening. Thank you!
