TGU School District #60 Notice of Election
Per NDCC 15.1-09-09 notice is hereby given that on June 4, 2020 the annual election will be held for the purpose of:
- Electing a director from the designated geographical area of the TGU School District #60.
- Voting on the question: Shall TGU School District #60, County of McHenry, State of North Dakota, publish a record of the board proceedings in the official newspaper of the district for the next two years?
At the April 8, 2020 school board meeting, the TGU School Board moved and passed with a majority vote to follow the guidance from the Executive Order 2020-19.1 to approve all votes in the 2020 annual election to be cast by absentee ballot only, as defined under NDCC 15.1-09-18. NO POLLING LOCATIONS WILL BE OPEN DAY OF ELECTION.
Anyone desiring an absent voter’s ballot may obtain an application from the TGU School District office by calling 701-537-5414. Applications are also available on the TGU School District Website. http://www.tgu.k12.nd.us/school-board/. Applications will also be mailed from the office of the Secretary of State prior to April 30, 2020, to all voters in their voter file. When completing this application please make sure School Election is selected. Completed applications must be returned to: TGU Business Manager PO Box 270, Towner ND, 58788 in order to receive an Absentee Ballot. Applications will also be accepted by emailing the Business Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please allow enough time to receive your ballot. Absentee ballots cannot be issued on the day of the election. Absentee ballots must be post marked by June 3, 2020, or delivered to the District office by 5pm on June 3, 2020. (NDCC 16.1-07) A secure absentee ballot drop box is located at the TGU School District Office in Towner ND at the west entrance. The absentee ballot drop box will allow district voters to return their applications and ballots either by deposit into a secure drop box or by mail.
